Buku ini membahas pengalaman perempuan Kristen sebagai minoritas dalam ruang publik yang didominasi nilai dan identitas keislaman berdasarkan studi kasus di Aceh, Indonesia. Menggunakan konsep agensi yang diletakkan dalam diskursus feminis post-kolonial, riset ini menemukan kendatipun identitas personal dan kolektif komunitas minoritas didesak beradaptasi pada kultur dominan, upaya tersebut tidak serta merta berhasil. Agensi perempuan Kristen sebagai minoritas di Aceh menghadapi situasi yang kritis, meskipun tetap independen dan tidak mudah ditundukkan oleh ruang publik yang disetir nilai dan identitas keagamaan golongan mayoritas tersebut. Karya Muhammad Ansor ini merupakan bacaan yang provokatif bagi aktivis kebebasan beragama, mahasiswa, maupun akademisi dalam studi gender, politik Islam, relasi agama dan kajian lintas budaya.
